Electronic-Pole-Reversal-Control-Unit 756
The Electronic-Pole-Reversal-Control-Unit 756 is a controllable current or voltage source for magnetising and reversing the polarity of:
- Electro magnets (EL)
- Electropermanent magnets (EP)
- Electropermanent magnets with neodymium system (Nd)
The system is operated via 24 V DC control inputs. The system statuses are output via a three-line display, LED indicators and PhotoMOS relays .
The device is supplied via a 3-phase 50 / 60 Hz mains connection. The device is suitable for solenoid rated currents of at least 6 A.
The device is supplied via a 3-phase 50 / 60 Hz mains connection. The device is suitable for solenoid rated currents of at least 6 A.
The USG 756 has a rated input power of 22.17 kVA (3 x 400 V, 32 A). Depending on the application (type of solenoid, rated voltage and current consumption of the connected solenoid), the device can also be supplied with a lower voltage and / or with a lower fuse rating.
To switch off electro-permanent solenoids or to reduce the residual magnetism of electro-magnets, the polarity must be reversed. This generates a magnetic field that changes polarity and decreases in intensity. This process ensures that the residual magnetism is reduced to a minimum. The USG 756 regulates the necessary currents / voltages through the magnet.
The polarity reversal process is preset at the factory when the USG 756 is delivered. If required, the polarity reversal process can be changed by selecting a different polarity reversal programme. It is also possible to change the polarity reversal programmes using the optionally available monitor programme.
With the optional multi-magnet mode, up to four data sets of different magnets can be saved. The data records contain all the data relevant for solenoid control. This allows up to four different solenoids to be operated alternately on one pole-reversal control unit.
ACCESSORIES:
Control unit:
We offer various type 744 control units for manual control of the pole-reversal control unit. These are equipped with a coding switch for setting the holding force and with illuminated buttons for tensioning and releasing the solenoid. Pushbuttons and coding switches are also available as built-in parts.
Monitor programme:
The additional "USG Monitor" software significantly expands the configuration options for the pole-reversal control unit. The following options are available, for example:
- Selection of the 6-, 8- and 16-stage holding force curve or individual modification of the individual holding force stages
- Changing the pole reversal programmes
- Activation of special options

The Highlights
SERIES 756
- Choice of current-controlled or voltage-controlled operation
- Preselection of up to 4 freely programmable solenoid parameter sets via optional control inputs
- Very short switching times
- When the solenoid is switched off quickly, any energy released is fed back into the mains
- Very fine resolution of the holding force levels
- Exclusive use of PhotoMOS relays for the feedback signals (no bouncing, relays can switch very low currents without becoming high-impedance)
- Configuration via USB with monitor programme (optional)
- Earth fault monitoring
