Passive oil cooling for overband magnets
Passive cooling
Passive oil cooling is a special function that is available for our overbelt solenoids. A special transformer oil is used to dissipate the heat loss from the coil reliably and wear-free to the surface of the magnet block.
As a result, the solenoid coil can be subjected to higher loads at the same internal temperature, allowing the solenoid to generate greater lifting forces - with the same dimensions as a standard solenoid.
If the solenoid is installed at an angle, the oil expansion tank should be positioned at the highest point of the solenoid block.
