Electro-Permanent-Magnet-Clamping-Plate 1110N
Type 1110N electro-permanent magnetic clamping plates offer an impressive holding force, specially designed for demanding machining work on solid workpieces. The integrated and reinforced permanent magnet system with neodymium magnets in combination with the large pole spacing creates an outstanding depth effect that bridges air gaps on uneven and rough contact surfaces.
The main areas of application for these magnetic clamping plates with increased holding force are in the field of heavy-duty machining. The use of movable pole extensions with three fixed contact points enables distortion-free clamping of uneven workpieces. As with all our electro-permanent magnets, the type 1110N also has full holding force after switching on with a short current pulse, i.e. full safety in the event of a power failure and no self-heating due to continuous current flow.
Functional principle
Electro-magnetic clamping systems essentially consist of three components:
- a solid steel base
- a copper winding
- a pole plate
The winding is moulded into the lower part and is therefore reliably protected against vibrations and moisture ingress.

In practical use, the pole plate is subject to wear. It is therefore designed in such a way that it can be reworked many times before the wear limit is reached. The pole plate can be easily replaced, which considerably increases the service life of the entire chuck.
