Permanent magnetic clamping plates 0113N
With fine pole pitch
Pure permanent magnet clamping plates are used for applications where manually or electrically switchable magnet systems offer too little holding force. Extremely strong permanent magnets - so-called rare-earth magnets - can build up maximum forces in a small volume.
Structure:
Together with steel poles, a magnetic field is generated with an effective depth that is customised to the respective requirements. This allows the magnetic field concentration to be individually defined in relation to the dimensions and, in particular, the thickness of the workpiece. The coolant-resistant plastic pole gap protects the permanent magnets and ensures a flat holding surface that is easy to clean. Alternatively, stainless steel inlays are also used here, which have a much higher wear resistance and therefore extend the service life many times over.

Application:
Even extremely critical materials such as carbide or similar can be clamped magnetically. The size of the permanent magnet clamping plates is determined individually and then clamped on an existing grinding magnet, for example. These types of magnets are also frequently used in so-called throughfeed machines, where mass-produced parts pass through several processing stations on a conveyor belt and are held in position reliably and accurately by the extremely strong magnetic field of the clamping plates. In combination with standard ceramic magnets for the areas outside the processing zones, the belt drive is less stressed and an economically optimised solution is achieved.

Functional principle
Electro-magnetic clamping systems essentially consist of three components:
- a solid steel base
- a copper winding
- a pole plate
The winding is moulded into the lower part and is therefore reliably protected against vibrations and moisture ingress.
A decisive quality feature of WAGNER clamping systems is the optimum balance between electrical power consumption and achievable magnetic force.

In practical use, the pole plate is subject to wear. It is therefore designed in such a way that it can be reworked many times before the wear limit is reached. The pole plate can be easily replaced, which considerably increases the service life of the entire chuck.
