Electro-Permanent-Magnet-Clamping-Chuck 1210H
with radial pole pitch
As a joint product from Röhm and Wagner, the type 1210H hybrid chuck combines the best of both companies. Consisting of a 3- or 6-jaw chuck and an electro-permanent magnetic chuck, it efficiently and highly flexibly fulfils today's requirements for a fast and economical clamping device.
Bearing rings and other easily deformable, ring-shaped workpieces are securely centred and clamped in a matter of seconds. The magnetic holding force can be adjusted as usual in up to 16 stages to prevent deformation of the workpiece. The jaws can be removed after centring to enable 3-sided machining.
Functional principle
Electro-magnetic clamping systems essentially consist of three components:
- a solid steel base
- a copper winding
- a pole plate
The winding is moulded into the lower part and is therefore reliably protected against vibrations and moisture ingress.

In practical use, the pole plate is subject to wear. It is therefore designed in such a way that it can be reworked many times before the wear limit is reached. The pole plate can be easily replaced, which considerably increases the service life of the entire chuck.
