Electro-Permanent-Magnet-Clamping-Chuck 1250V
with pendulum pole pitch and increased holding force
Type 1250V electro-permanent magnetic chucks with pendulum pole division have an extra strong magnetic system. At the individual poles of the symmetrically divided pole plate surface, alternating north and south polarities are created in all directions. This design means that there is no non-magnetic zone in the centre of the magnetic chuck and a very uniform holding force is achieved over the entire clamping surface.
The reinforced permanent magnet system generates a high depth effect for bridging air gaps on workpieces with uneven and rough contact surfaces. This design is also particularly suitable for clamping
mass-produced parts or for clamping thin workpieces such as saw blades. Centring takes place via a coordinated locating bore in the centre of the clamping surface.
Depending on the range of parts and workpiece thickness, you can choose between pole pitches of 11, 14, 18 and 25 mm. The pole plate can be reworked and replaced as a wear part. The
homogeneous design of the magnet system and the pole plate offers maximum precision.
The solenoid is controlled via the tried-and-tested Wagner pole-reversal control units. The magnets are magnetised by a short current pulse. The residual magnetism in the workpiece and in the chuck is removed after machining by a pole reversal process that is automatically controlled at several intervals.
Power is supplied as standard through the machine spindle with attached slip ring assembly and carbon brush holder. Thanks to an optional plug-in device on the outer circumference, the magnetic chuck can be used very flexibly on pallet changing systems. Conversion between different electric permanent magnet systems or mechanical clamping systems can be realised very quickly and flexibly.
In the event of a power failure, the switched-on clamping plate retains its full holding force, thus ensuring operational safety.
Functional principle
Electro-magnetic clamping systems essentially consist of three components:
- a solid steel base
- a copper winding
- a pole plate
The winding is moulded into the lower part and is therefore reliably protected against vibrations and moisture ingress.
A decisive quality feature of WAGNER clamping systems is the optimum balance between electrical power consumption and achievable magnetic force.
A decisive quality feature of WAGNER clamping systems is the optimum balance between electrical power consumption and achievable magnetic force.
In practical use, the pole plate is subject to wear. It is therefore designed in such a way that it can be reworked many times before the wear limit is reached. The pole plate can be easily replaced, which considerably increases the service life of the entire chuck.
