Electro-Permanent-Magnet-Clamping-Chuck 1250
with pendulum pole pitch
Type 1250 electro-permanent magnetic chucks have a high holding force due to the pendulum pole pitch. North and south poles are arranged alternately in the longitudinal and transverse direction over the entire clamping range. This design means that there is no non-magnetic zone in the centre of the magnetic chuck and a very uniform holding force is achieved over the entire clamping surface.
This pole pitch is particularly suitable for clamping mass-produced parts or for clamping thin workpieces, such as saw blades. Centring can be carried out via a matching locating bore in the centre of the clamping surface. Depending on the range of parts, you can choose between pole pitches of 11, 14, 18 and 25 mm. The pole plate can be reworked up to the wear limit and then replaced. The electro-permanent magnetic chuck is magnetised and demagnetised using current pulses. The power supply is interrupted during the machining process so that no heat is generated by the activated magnet. Problems caused by inaccuracies due to temperature fluctuations do not occur. The electro-permanent magnet systems therefore fulfil all the requirements for precision, safety and ease of use.
Power is supplied as standard through the machine spindle with attached slip ring assembly and carbon brush holder. Thanks to an optional plug-in device on the outer circumference, the magnetic chuck can be used very flexibly on pallet changing systems. Conversion between different electro-permanent magnetic systems or mechanical clamping systems can be realised very quickly and flexibly.
Functional principle
Electro-magnetic clamping systems essentially consist of three components:
- a solid steel base
- a copper winding
- a pole plate
The winding is moulded into the lower part and is therefore reliably protected against vibrations and moisture ingress.
A decisive quality feature of WAGNER clamping systems is the optimum balance between electrical power consumption and achievable magnetic force.
A decisive quality feature of WAGNER clamping systems is the optimum balance between electrical power consumption and achievable magnetic force.
In practical use, the pole plate is subject to wear. It is therefore designed in such a way that it can be reworked many times before the wear limit is reached. The pole plate can be easily replaced, which considerably increases the service life of the entire chuck.
