Electro-Permanent-Magnet-Clamping-Plate 1150V
Reinforced version
The type 1150V with pendulum pole division has an extra strong magnet system. At the individual poles of the symmetrically divided pole plate surface, north and south polarities are created alternately in the transverse and longitudinal directions. This design allows the poles to be stretched to the very edge of the pole surface, as the magnetic forces are evenly distributed across them.
The reinforced permanent magnet system generates a high depth effect for bridging air gaps on workpieces with uneven and rough contact surfaces. These magnet systems are therefore ideally suited for high chip removal during grinding and milling.
The pole plate can be reworked and replaced as a wear part.
Electro-permanent magnetic clamping plates combine the clamping force of permanent magnets with the advantageous switching options of a purely electric design. They therefore fulfil all the requirements for precision, safety and ease of use.
The power supply is interrupted during the machining process so that no heat is generated by the active magnet. This eliminates problems caused by inaccuracies due to temperature fluctuations. The switching operations are performed by a short current surge. The homogeneous design of the magnet system and the pole plate offers maximum precision.
In the event of a power failure, the energised clamping plate retains its full holding force, thus ensuring operational safety. In addition, the power supply to the magnet can be disconnected after the clamping pulse. The magnet with clamped workpiece can therefore be used at several stations (pallet changing system) without a power supply.
Functional principle
Electro-magnetic clamping systems essentially consist of three components:
- a solid steel base
- a copper winding
- a pole plate
The winding is moulded into the lower part and is therefore reliably protected against vibrations and moisture ingress.
A decisive quality feature of WAGNER clamping systems is the optimum balance between electrical power consumption and achievable magnetic force.
A decisive quality feature of WAGNER clamping systems is the optimum balance between electrical power consumption and achievable magnetic force.
In practical use, the pole plate is subject to wear. It is therefore designed in such a way that it can be reworked many times before the wear limit is reached. The pole plate can be easily replaced, which considerably increases the service life of the entire chuck.
